Re: RIVERVIEW CEMETERY, WILMINGTON, DE
Tedd,
I think it's admirable that your organization has "rescued" Riverview Cemetery from the brink. Now we just need to get the word out that there is in fact an organization striving to raise funds to care for this cemetery long term.
However, there will still be people out there for a while that won't realize that anyone is in charge. So take a deep breath, hit every list you can find related to cemeteries, and keep up the good work putting out the word that Riverview has an owner that is interested in helping people find their ancestors.
Congrats!
Debbie

Ruth, I don't know if you ever located the Riverview records you were looking for, but the cemetery is under new management now.

Dear Ruth,
My great grandparents are buried in Riverview Cementary too. A few years ago I went there and found someone who knew what was going on. The cementary is now in the hands of a presevation group. Here's their info: Friends of Historic Riverview Cemetery P.O. Box 2173. Wilmington, DE 19899. Phone: (302) 762-4705 Hope this helps in locating your family.

Re: RIVERVIEW CEMETERY, WILMINGTON, DE
I recently found out my uncle was buried there in 2027, he was almost 2 yrs old. I located his death certificate and want to locate his grave. His name was John Franklin Chestnut. Dob 10 April 1925 and he died on 13 Feb 1927 buried 15 Feb 1927 in Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington. I am very excited because my dad and his sisters had never been to the grave and since they have passed on as well. I would appreciate any information yu might find. Thanks Harriet

Re: RIVERVIEW CEMETERY, WILMINGTON, DE
John is buried in Section 8 1/2, Lot 750. Cemetery records indicate that he does not have a grave marker. There are very few markers in that section and the cemetery has no map showing the layout. It will be extremely difficult to find his gravesite.
Regards,
Tedd
