Roger,

Thanks for sending the Kent County Cemetery List. That will make it much easier to see if any of my ancestors stayed behind, while the rest went to OH and IN, and other points west.

Hello Patricia,

I don't know all of the cemeteries in the Dover area, but I do know of several. There is one right in the town of Dover called Lake Side M. E. Cemetery. It is located on the east side of North State Street and Silver Lake road. The care taker of the cemetery can be reached at 1-302-734-2142.

There are many HAZEL's buried in the Methodist Cemetery in Kenton, Delaware. This cemetery is located west of the town of Kenton and on the north side of the junction of road 66 and route 300. This is a small cemetery and I don't know who maintains it. When I was there last spring I took pictures of all of the HAZEL tombstones. Let me know if you are interested in knowing who they are.

Another one is called Foxhall Plantation Cemetery. I haven't been there, but it is located near Dover approximately 500' south of the Mudstone Branch and 50' west of road # 104.

I am trying to find more information on a Susan Ann HAZEL born in Kent County, Delaware, c 1815, died c 1897. Susan married Reese DAVID on 3 February, 1830. She is buried in the Lake Side Cemetery in Dover.

I'm would also like to find out who Ella D. HAZEL is. She is buried with Mary E. DAVID and John T. DAVID. Her tombstone lists 1883 as her birth year and she died in 1920. She is also buried at Lake Side Cemetery.

Hope this helps.

Wayne,

Thank you for the information about the cemeteries. I'll see what else I can find online. We live in Michigan; will probably never get to DE. We can get to OH to see what we can find out there about my Hazel people, though. Good luck in your search. I'll see what I can do to help you.

Wayne,

Just read your note again. Yes, please, send me any Hazel tombstone information you can. Especially in that area. I don't know where they were before DE. I don't know whether they came to America from Germany or Switzerland. Have heard both. Maybe neither, or all I know. There's nobody left to help me.
