Hello,

I am looking for information on my gg grandmother, Lizzie Priester, who died September 14, 1902 and is buried in St. Laurence Cemetery. I would like any information about the location of the grave, as well as any information on the stones that are on the plot she's in. I'm hoping her father and mother are there, with the townland in Ireland that they came from, but I would like anything that's there.

Could someone please let me know how I can get this information?

Thank you,

Melody Masi

Yes, I would write to West Haven, CT for a burial or death notice. If
you
know the date you could write to the cemeteries and see if they have a
record. Or maybe the library or genealogical society might have a list.

Here's a link for cemeteries in CT- St Bernard and St Lawrence are both
listed.

and here's a link to library addresses in West Haven:

Thank you, Betty. I have written, over three years ago and they have never sent any info, even with follow up phone calls. So I'm hoping that someone who lives in the area can help. I did send out another request to them today, just on the chance that someone new is there and will send info. Thank you for your suggestion. By the way, we have McLaughlins in our family. Came originally into New Hampshire as Scots/Irish. My Mom's doing that research. If interested, please write to r.bratti@comcast.net.

Melody:

Was Priester her married name or maiden name? Did they reside in Connecticut? You mentioned that her parents might be buried there. What are there names? I have been to that cemetery many times, my family from Ireland is also buried there. Let me know if I can help.

Hello,

I hope you don't mind me jumping into your conversation. You had mentioned that you go to St. Lawrence Cemetery. My husband's relatives are buried there. Could I bother you do have a look at the family plot. The last name is TKACZUK, Stanislaw, Marya, Edward should be buried there. I was wondering if other members are buried there as well. I have all their census & city directory records. Thanks so much for listening and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Hi Betty,

St. Lawrence has assured me that short of walking the (huge) graveyard, there is no way to know where Mary Maley Green is buried. So, I'm hoping some kind soul in CT will keep her in mind when they go and email me.

Yes, I have posted to the New Haven website, thank you for that tip, you never know.

thanks for your interest and response and the best to you in your own searches.

Melody, If you have an exact death date, you can get information at the new haven public library. My mothers people are buried in st. lawrence cemetery, donohue. st. peters and paul ave. i remember going there as a child.
Have you posted at every website because there is the http://www.genforum.genealogy.com/green or maley there, and there is an obit forum too. you would have the counties and states to post. I am going to try and help you. I have good friends that help me find my Facciuto side of the family, and in the past 2 yrs have been back to CT. to visit them. betty

Hi

I have been to St Lawrence Cemetery many times. I have a great grandmother who was buried in St Bernards Cemetery , I have the obituary which states when she was buried 11/6/1900. St Lawrence Cemetery has the records for St Bernards. I have been there in person 3 times and have not recieved a call back. So are you sure your GGrandmother is buried in St Lawrence? If she is in St Bernards, they say the records are in bad condition. If you don't have her obituary there is a volunteer obituary service through Rootsweb.

Good Luck
