Looking for old cemeteries in East Windsor.In particular for the graves of Ebenezer Rockwell and his three wives. He died in 1802.
If anyone has access to the Hale files or to LDS files of these old cemeteries I would more than appreciate your help.
This is SO important to me.
Thank you for any scrap of information.
Jean

Jean;
another way you might be able to get some information is to run a search using Switchboard.com, searching under businesses "cemeteries", and East Windsor, CT as the area.
This will give you a list which will include the name, address and phone numbers of cemeteries listed in the phone books, etc.
A third option is to run the same search on switchboard, but looking for undertakers or funeral homes in East Windsor. Once you have one, a discreet call to one of them will usually get you a list of newer AND older cemeteries in the area.
I've found a copy of the death certificate is usually pretty helpful in most cases, going back to the early 1900's, in that the cemetery is often listed there, not to mention other gopod info like parent's names, date of birth, where born, etc.
Good luck.

Once the query results are displayed on the USGS website click on the Cemetery Name and then click on the TopoZone.com link in the right column to display the cemetery on a topographical map.

I don't find a listing for an Ebenezer Rockwell in East Windsor cemeteries before 1930. Try South Windsor- which split off as a separated town in 1845 and many Rockwells.

I didn't know about the split off. Is there inscriptions on line?

jean, let me see if i can help you out. I was able to contact a lady in CT. that helped me find my grandmothers grave in st. johns cemetery in darien, CT. In 1935 they did a hale survey of the cemetery and my grandmother Filomena Colangelo was there. but the cemetery office did not have any information on these old graves. Grandmother died in 1915 after being in this country for only 9 yrs. She came from Forenza, Italy. email me if i cannot get to your email. efacciuto59@yahoo.com betty facciuto mclaughlin
