Thanks, it sounds like I may need more than a day to track down the correct cemetery in AR.

Thanks for the info, and I will definitely check into it - but I doubt someone born in 1888 could have been the mother of a child that was 5 in 1900 - I have found none of the dates from census to records ever quite matches but that does seem a little off - Fortunately, I am going to Conway AR in June so I will definitely try to go the the courthouse and check it out further!

Thank you for the info - I will start looking at Emma as well as Elsie for additional information. I talked to someone that thinks they have a picture of (Elsie's) parents in AR, so I may try to get a copy in June and post it to see if anyone recognizes it.
I am going to try to fit in some family research on a trip to AR with my daughter for a college visit. :)

1920 census Charles and Elsie are living in Pulaski Co. They have two children, who are being transcribed as Ibur and Charles Jr.

I do not have access to the original record so I can not see what township they are in. Or possible alternate name for the first child.

Thank you for the information about the 1920 census.

Unfortunately, the first child, a daughter, was named Ibur. My dad does remember Aunt Ibur... and knew her son. He was tragically killed in an accident. Thanks for the info on the census - I will see if I can find it. No idea where the name Ibur came from, but both sides of my family had a unique way of picking the most AWFUL female names!

I found the original 1920 census and they are located in Little Rock. WArd 8, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
On Charles D (1892) WWI draft card he shows he was born in (??Rubycorn??) Saline County Arkansas. However, I have not found anyway to order a birth certificate from AR without parents names...

I cannot find the census record you are looking at... for Charles D. can you give me some help in finding it. I have tried numerous searches, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. :(

I was at this cemetery today. My grandparents are buried there and my great grandmother was Linnie Garrett Parker. I live in Seattle. I can get the name of the cemetery for you. Anne

Anne,
are you aware of the site www.arkansasgravestones.org I volunteer with this group and take photos of graves and cemeteries in and around Lawrence County, Arkansas. Just passing this info on in case you had not heard of it.
