since you have access to the Scoonie Cemetery Inscriptions, could you look up an inscription for me? My 4th great-grandfather is buried in the Scoonie Churchyard according to the Old Parochial Church records I viewed using the Family History Libraries microfilm.
His information is as follows:
Barnet At Leven on the 25th of Nov. died James Barnet Tailor Leven & was buried on the 27th in Scoonie Churchyard.

I know his wife, Margaret Shearer, and all his children, John, William, James, Isabella & Thomas immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts. I have most of the information on all their families. I'm descended through James in 1845/1846.

Because I don't have the name of James's parents, I'm also interest in any other Barnet(t)s there. Since the third son was James, naming the third son after the father was the normal naming pattern in Scotland. I might assume that his father was John, the name of the eldest son. The second choice might be William, though that would normally be the name of the wife’s father. I’m also interested in any Shearer that may be buried there as well, to locate possibilities for Margaret’s parents.
