This was on my G-G-Grandfather's tombstone: JUNCTI JUVAMUS Any ideas? It COULD be a military symbol. He was also German, so could this be a German phrase?

The Latin phrase "JUNCTI JUVAMUS" was used as the motto for a 19th century fraternal organization known as "The American legion of Honor, founded in Massachusetts in 1878:

"JUNCTI JUVAMUS" was also used as the motto for a proposed union of German men's choir (maennerchor) directors. According to a March 18, 1899 newspaper article published in the Chicago newspaper "The Inter-Ocean," the union effort was launched during a meeting discussing rising anti-German sentiments in Chicago. Plans called for organizing German singing clubs (saenger-bunds) for the purpose of en masse performances meant to build goodwill for German-Americans.
