Does anyone know what S.O.V. stands for? My great x 3 grandfather, Henry Pitt Crook, born in Gloucester, England, lived in Wales until he immigrated to the US in 1867. He was a puddler. I also believe he may have been a volunteer fireman. He was also in the Order of Red Men while in Elmira, NY and later in Youngstown Ohio. He was a 'Massasoit- from tribe # 14 (an all male secret society). The marker is simple almost a cross shape, with the letters S O V..... I looked on google but no luck. Thanks- Diane ( grave in Oak Hill Cemetery, Youngstown Ohio. Henry P Crook 1825-1898)
