St bernadin parish (RC) , shefford or waterloo look up

Surnames: Phelan , Lessard
I am researching a Dr Cornelius Phelan who lived in St Bernadin parish in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was also know by his initials: CJFR. His wife was Marie Elidiane and he had a daughter Adiline Marie Catherine Berthe, who was called Berthe. Berthe married Louis Arthur Lessard, a physician from Granby, in that church in June 1897.

I do not have a date of death for Dr. Cornelius and his wife died, (although I do know that it would have been after 1911) or if his daughter ever had any other children. I also believe he had another child who had died.

does anyone know how I can find a cemetery or death record from this period for this location

Merci beaucoup!! Wow you found the entire family. Thank you for attaching these. so it looks like the family left Waterloo and ended up in Montreal. I was able to figure out the important stuff here I think. I am curious about the list of witnesses, especially for Berthe, wondering if these were children. . .

do you have any way to search for these people or advice on where I could find them? - jean Claude Lessard (is he a son ?) Josephine (cannot decipher the last name) ? The record for Berthe has the most names, but I am having trouble reading the rest of them.

By the way, your English is much better than my French. No need to apologize.

Hello,

I did some new researches...

For sure, J.F.R.C. Phelan and Élidiane Guindon had only 2 kids, Berthe and Lionel John Médard...

Lionel John Médard was borned the 1st April 1868, christened the 12th of April 1868, Parrish St-Édouard-de-Knowlton, co. Brome, Québec. He died the 27th of August 1867 and was burried the 29th of August.(see the document)...

Berthe was borned the 16th of september 1871, christened the 24th of september, Parrish St-Bernardin, Waterloo, co. Shefford, Québec... Berthe married Louis-Arthur Lessard the 1st of June 1897, Parrish St-Bernardin, Waterloo.

According to the Census of Canada 1901 and 1911, Berthe and Louis-Arthur had 2 kids, Marie Noémie and Jean-Claude. I sent you the Census of 1911. If you want 1901, don't be shield to ask me for it.

Noémie was borned the 5th of July 1898 and christened the 6th of July, under the name of Marie Philomène Noémie Lessard, Parrish Notre-Dame, Granby. (see document). She married Andrew MacClements the 23th of March 1940, Parrish St-Viateur d'Outremont, Montréal, Québec. It's very difficult to find if they had children. I will continue the research. Noémie died the 25th of April 1958 in Montréal and was burried the 28th of April in Cemetery Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, Montréal. I didn't find any document concerning her husband Andrew and he wasn't burried with her.

Jean-Claude Lessard was borned the 13th of October 1904 and christened the 14th of October, Parrish Notre-Dame, Granby, co. Shefford, Québec. He married Simone Meunier the 23th of May 1933, Parrish Marie-Reine-Du-Monde-Et-Saint-Jacques, Montréal. I didn't find yet if they had any kids. Jean-Claude died the 10th of August 1971 in Montréal and was burried the 12th of August, Cimetery Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, Montréal. Simone Meunier died the 2nd of June 1983 in Rawdon, co. Joliette, Québec and was burried the 4th of June in Cemetery Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, Montréal.

You will find the list of the people burried in the same plot...

I will continue the research...

Have a nice day

Lynn
