Shediac Baptist Church - LOOK UP REQUEST

Hi - I am hoping someone can take a photo of a specific grave for me. I am looking in the old Shediac Baptist Church which was on the property of the now Shediac Bay Community Church.

Nelson A. Marrett, parents Thomas and Easter Marrett. d. Nov 1873

It may be a small grave as it was for a child. Anyone kind enough to take a pic, I thank you greatly in advance

juliejulie120@yahoo.ca

BATHURST CEMETERY

If anyone has access to transcripts of the R.C. (?) cemetery of Bathurst, I would be grateful for a lookup of a Reta / Rita (nee HENDERSON) married name HUSSEY. Husband's name is Lyndell. This woman died in Sept 2003 and was "laid to rest in Bathurst".
I realize your town is probably under a LOT of snow right now, but if you have access to a printed list of burials, I would love to have this information for our family tree.
Thank you for reading my query.
Joan Rawn

Cookville is a farming community northeast of Sackville. My Lund family has had a farm there for about 200 years. It's cemetery is not included in the the provincial archives or the Westmorland County website. I have posted a copy here: http://cemetery.canadagenweb.org/NB/NBC0883/
Some of the families include the Cooks (the village was named for the first settler, David Cook: they are the most numerous in the cemetery also), Estabrooks, McPhees, Polleys, O'Briens, Towses, Lunds and more.

James Halloran grave

I am searching for information about the death/burial of James Halloran, born 1784 in Ireland (Limerick?) and who emigrated to Mirimichi, New Brunswick with his brother John in 1826. He lived in Nelson Parish, Mirimichi and farmed with brother, John. He did not emigrate to Michigan, USA when John and family did in 1868, so assumed he died in Mirimichi area. Can anyone help me with information about James's death and/or burial?

Have many relatives buried at Elmwood - is there a list of burial plots - at this time, I'm particularly interested in Moore, Lee Gordon, born Oct. 23 1892 and died Sept. or October 1976 ... and ... his wife Kathleen Pearl Moore, nee Long born 1898 and passed August 1951. Also many LONG's that are buried there, including my grandmother and aunts and uncles.

Trail of Tears for Irish Immigrants

http://www.newirelandnb.ca/Irish-Trail-Quarantine-Stations/H...

Hospital (Hardwood) Island which was a quarantine station for inbound immigrants who were diagnosed as having cholera. It is thought that there were as many as 400 Irish immigrants - many of them children - buried there. My Mom told of how half of her Mother's family died in the Thousand Islands of cholera, and other diseases, while they were awaiting admittance to the United States. Half of the survivors turned back and became Canadian citizens, just to get out of the camps and have a better chance of surviving.
Richard Weeks
Quoted here by Eric Thornton

I will supply(hopefully) a link to Moncton census that shows them both in 1901 and then her as a widow in 1911. I also found a link to Dr James ROSS's death certificate. I do have a bit of biography on him as a physician. Just wondering if she went back to NS after his death.
I am wondering if Ruth B. Ross was buried in Elmwood. Her date of death would have been 1900 - 1906 approximately. She was born in Scotland and married James Ross in 1867 in Bedford Basin, Halifax. Perhaps the Ross family had a plot there or the Burgess family as she was born Ruth Martha Burgess and her father was Epharim Edward Burgess. thank you for any help you can give me. They were from Moncton, NB. Evidently his mother died when he was young and the father "farmed out" the children. Young Samuel was raised in Moncton by a family surnamed Scott. I have some information on young Samuel and a couple of his siblings to share with anyone interested.

I would love to find out more about this family.

Thank you,

Kristen

CanadianHeadstones.com - New, fully automated headstone photo website

Hi - We have developed a new, fully automated headstone archive website for all of Canada at CanadianHeadstones.com

The mission of this project is to capture digital images of headstones of our ancestors. As decades pass -- many stones are becoming harder, if not impossible, to read the inscriptions they originally contained.

By archiving the images, we can help save these important records and also assist researchers using this valuable resource.

This Headstone Photo Project is a privately sponsored, non-profit, educational site. Success of the Project depends completely upon the activities of many volunteers and other individuals who contribute photographs to the archive.

Help save history for future generations!

Anne Murray is from Nova Scotia, and I have been told that she is not related. I have history back to 1860?
It will take me sometime to dig it out.
I'm 69 years old, how old are you. allablaze@comcast.net if you want to correspond.
John

I have visited there four times. The murray family comes from the Scotch Settlement, and most are buried in Elmwood Cemetery. We are related to a lot of fmilies in this cemetery. I once purchased a book of all folks that are there bruied up to 2006.
Who are you looking for??
A lot of cemeteries in Canada are on line with all the information they can find. Elmwood Cemetery had a fire years past and a lot of information was lost.
John

I have just found out that my great uncle Samuel Maycock was buried here in 1903. He died from drowning on 26th May 1903 - he would have been about 13.

He arrived in Halifax as a home child from the Middlemore Home in Birmingham, with his brother Arthur in 1901. I have no idea what happened to the boys when they arrived or who was responsible for them. I would be so grateful for any information whatsoever - either about Samuel's life and death or about his grave or burial.

Is anyone aware of resources pertaining to burials/headstones in Cedar Hill Cemetery in St. John, New Brunswick? I know that at least some of my ancestors are buried there (from the Dummer family, and possibly the Smith and/or Clark family, as well), and I wonder if the tombstones might help me to at least fill in some missing dates or even identify some unknown relatives. Thanks for any ideas...

Hello -- I am their great-great granddaughter. My grandfather has told me that Alexander and his two brothers (one named Robert, the other we do not know) sailed from Ireland to St. John in the 1880's. Alexander and Robert left the ship in St. John -- but they left the third unnamed brother sleeping on the ship and he ended up in Pennsylvania.
Any additional information that you could give me would be appreciated as my grandfather is very interested in his lineage and I have not been able to find anything as of yet. Thanks!!
