Thanks, our proceedure is that some one physically goes and takes pictures of the headstones, they enter the text from the headstone and it gets sent to me for approval.
We can enter information, without a photo, so if you would like to do that let me know.
It is a huge task to get all the headstones pictured, and I would think that the "keeper" of the cemetery should have the locations for your people...I have approved over 8,000 headstones, in Ontario and Sask.
Good luck....I will look to see if I can find out who is in charge of this cemetery.
Jan
My "John Campbell" isn't listed although I know from his death certifcate he was placed in this cemetary. Neither are any of my closer Campbell relatives.

What I am really after is a method to find out the location of his headstone in this cemetary.

I am looking for my Native Great-grandmother who was Gregoire's wife in Danielson, Conn. and also buried there. She is a New England American Indian, Lena Delphine Barriere also knowns as Dubie, Tusk Quai A Lout! Trying to find out what tribe she belonged to. She comes from New England States, 1882..

Thanks for your help anyway!
Georgia

I have a unique situation where what was then called Mt Johnson was settled by my ancestors, the scots. It seems about 1830 or so, 100 some odd people from scotland settled there, but soon most moved to more fertle land. My 3rd great grandparents did not move, they stayed there and went to the church called St Mary at first, the St. Marie De Monnoire, or something like that. They supposedly died in Mt Johnson. His name was John McRae and his wife was Catherine McIntosh. They had a son named Christopher McRae and Selenda Phelps. They had their family in Mt Johnson. Christopher and family moved to the U.S. via ontario, but his parents stayed there... In your search, have you ever run across a cemetery that might have a few scottish people buried in it...??/ Thanks. lance McRae

Monique,
My name is Denis Lacombe and Annie Nadon (Marie-Anne Emma)and Harvey Presley are my maternal grandparents and also my god parents. I have what you need, and probably more. Teir eldest daughter, Nöella, is my mother, married to Donat Lacombe. I have also did some serious genealogical research on the Presleys and discovered that they were originally from Hochstadt, Germany. My mom's 7th great grandfather is the same as Elvis Presley's. Two sons of Johannes Valentine Pressler, Andreas and Anthony are the culprits. Elvis is from Andreas lineage and my mother is from Anthony's. I have baptismal, mariage and death documents of all of Harvey's family. I even have a photo of Ira Presley and his wife, Catherine Breese.Ira was born in around 1790, somewhere in New York State. He moved to Ontario from Ellisburg, N.Y. with his family and went back to the US with all but two of his children. One of them was James William who married Hannah Maria Potts on Sept. 6 1866. Their 4th son, John, married Armandine Lortie and they in turn, had Harvey, the oldest of their family. Harvey and Annie are both buried in Notre-Dame Cemetary in Vanier (Ottawa). If you require more, contact me at dhl_17avenger_5174@rogers.com and I will be more than happy to reply with what you need.

Denis Lacombe

I know that Carnot "Carney" TenBroeck is buried in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Thorold, St. Catharines, Ontario. He died 15 March 1964 in Thorold, and his second wife, Ruth, died in 1999, but I do not have the exact death date. Can anyone supply that for me? Her gravestone only gives 1999. I'm also trying to determine when they were married, but I figured that maybe her obituary would give that information if I can find the exact death date. Thank you, Carol

Are you interested in seeing the cemetery entrance signs to your relatives that are buried in Canada? Perhaps you want to print a copy for your own family history album? Or do you have a picture (either scanned or from a digital camera) you would like to submit to be added?

Check out this new site, Canadian Cemetery Signs. The site was created on July 28, 2005 and already as of today there are 101 photos on the site. Some provinces have many photos, others a few or none at all but it is a site that is growing fast with the help of many great volunteers.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cemsigns/index.htm

Check it out and submit your cemetery entrance sign photos for cemeteries in Canada to help others, especially those who live far away and cannot get visit in person.
Thank you for your reply.
Could you please check to see if you have any McRae family in your records. It could be spelled Macrae or Macray, etc...but they were all either directly from the above place or near it. They settled Mt. Johnson when Sir Johnson offered the land if they would work it. My 4th gg grandfather, John McRae settled it and lived there and did not move away as many others did. Later it was changed to the above name Mont St Gregoire...He married Catherine McIntosh about 1787 prob. in Scotland and may have been aboard the ship that landed in 1802 with 300 highlanders on it to settle the land. John also had another wife, Christian McCauig married in 817 in St Gabriel, Iberville. Any reference to the McRae name or variants of it in the above area would greatly be appreciated. THanks. There is no record of his death in the state of Wisconsin where he was married and my grandfather was born in Beeton,Ontario, Canada. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It is in the center of the old part of town in Nanaimo, and only now is a small area with some of the names of those whose markers were still there. I have a picture of it(from the history that Jack Work wrote many years ago)and shortly I will send it along to you.
Edith (Work) Laird, my grandmother is buried next to her brother in the municiple cemetary in Nanaimo

Hi Kathy,
I'm wondering if you can tell me how to get to the Glen Allen Union Cemetery. I have relatives there and will be visiting the area next month.
Thanks!
Joyce
