John MacDONALD is a First World War war dead whose burial location is currently unknown. He was born in Scotland. He was residing at Beachburg, ON when he enlisted in October 1916. He was an underage soldier and listed his Next of Kin as his brother, who was serving overseas. His religion was Presbyterian. He served in the Canadian Army Medical Corps. He was discharged in Kingston, ON, on 26 December 1918. He died on 13 May 1920. At the time of his death, his parents were residing in Scotland. He is believed to be buried in Kingston or Beachburg, ON.

Private MacDonald had previously been located but this record had not been updated. The Canadian Expeditionary Force Study Group is committed to finding those men of the CEF that do not have a known grave. This includes those on the main memorials (Vimy, Menin Gate, Beaumont Hamel, Halifax, etc.) as well as the Canadian Book of Remembrance.

Private MacDonald was listed in the Book of Remembrance prior to his grave site being identified.
