Need help deciphering cause of death

I can't figure out what the case of death says on this certificate for Frederick Pirson. It appears to be "Afflexy or Afflepy" I thought that maybe one or both of those was a "long S", but Asflexy or Asslepy doesn't make any more sense. So is this an old term and/or misspelled, or am I just misreading it?

I'd say it reads "Applexy" and is a misspelling of apoplexy. Professional people aren't necessarily good spellers.

I'd say that's a good bet. Thanks! I hadn't considered them as being "P"s

Different eyes see different things. For me the letter "p" was my first impression.
