Need help with cause of death

My grandfather's sister died at the age of 8 months. I have her death certificate which states cause of death as (I think) nephristis and hemt. Contributory/secondary says entero colitis, yacbatis/jacbratis/facbritis (that I really can't make out) and faulty feeding (I have been told that she choked). I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some of this. Aside from the choking it seems as though there were other things wrong and she was so young I'd like to know what happened. Thanks!

Nephritis is inflammation of the kidneys. Without seeing the death cert. I can't guess at what the other terms are. Scan and post a copy of the death cert. and maybe someone will be able to decipher it.

You can do an internet search of old time medical conditions or terms for help. Basically her digestive system was a mess. Nephritis is inflammation of the kidneys, Hempt is short for either vomiting blood or bloody urine. Enterocolitius is inflammation to the intestines and the 3 "britis" refer to kidneys and intestines.
You can do an internet search of inherited kidney and bowel diseases as discovered after she died and look to see any other family members have such problems. At 8 months she should have been having some solid food that may have been spoiled and caused all her symptoms...what comes to my mind is what is referred to today as E-Coli.

Thank you both for your help! I am wondering about the faulty feeding as a contributory cause - so maybe faulty feeding wasn't necessarily choking but that she ate something that made her ill? To me if she choked wouldn't that have been the primary cause of death?
