Amen to that. Copying someone elses work and calling it your own is not genealogy - it's genealogical plagerism.

If you don't go to the source and study the source you can't understand the context of the source and you can't understand the person you are researching

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS verify ANYTHING you copy from someone elses tree, or published family genealogy. DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT where you get that source because if all you do copy someone elses work someone, some day is going to discover your errors and you will need to defend your work, or genealogical plagerism.
