When will more English Parish Records be available?

When will more English Parish Records be available?

I have been using the recently added Parish Records for Dorset and the West Riding of Yorkshire and they have been a very great help in finding missing members and solving problems in my family trees.
Many Parish Records are available from various sources but a lot stop at 1812 so there is a frustrating gap from 1812 to 1837 BMD records which often renders them useless.
Parish Records for the whole country would make a great improvement to English records.

Yes, wouldn't that be wonderful? Unfortunately, all parish records for the whole country are simply not available.

For more parish records, see the Online Parish Clerks Projects; FamilySearch.com; local government web pages, such as county records offices; local libraries; and Family History Societies pertinent to your area of research.

More information about finding parish records in each county can be found on GENUKI at http://www.genuki.org.uk

What gives me great hope is seeing how Essex (SEAX) have put on line so many parish registers. Of course you still have to go through and search, and then there's the fun of scrappy writing and missing bits. And on the downside, they now charge for access... but still, could do with more counties making their records available.

Several counties have Online Parish Records sites which are all free.

There was a report of Ancestry having a room at one archive and busily copying records so plenty of work taking place.

Hope you can answer this for me. I am very interested in West Yorkshire parish records (specifically for the Ripon area), but don't know if a subscription upgrade to research these records on Ancestry is worth it? Are the records on Ancestry different to the ones on Familysearch.org????

One major benefit is that Ancestry indicate what the source document is, unlike familysearch who seem to find it amusing to transcribe all marriage Bann entries as Marriages even though the date will be wrong, the church is probably wrong and even when the marriage didn't take place!

In one glorious case they have totally ignored the Banns register stating that the prospective groom went home and hung himself following the first reading, but in FamilySearch the date is listed as his marriage date .....
