I used to have a public tree early on but changed it to private to avoid possible propagation of errors. I let a few distant family members look at my tree then all of a sudden much of my data right and wrong was copied. i noticed other family members then copied those errors and built on that. It seems people are getting away from actual research and are only copying data from others without verification. Then when you ask where they got the wrong information from they have no idea what you are talking about cause they haven't done actual research. This seems to be the norm now which is disappointing.
