Thanks jwardh. Yes you pointed to a main problem. I don't always get very useful information in looking at owners profile.
@ others who suggest going to the owners profile* etc.
Yes of course, it helps sometimes. But from a search page results, profile seeking is a lengthy detour. Probably this detour takes more time than just examining those multiple 2-3 people trees that are right there, on the Search result pages (but that you could not depict).
______
*However we may have a different experience according to internet browsers and computer system - I don,t know (I'm in Mac with Google Chrome.
This detour is generally not a big deal - depending on what you wish to accomplish - and on the time you have. If you slowly build one family tree (which I do for some family members) - it might be ok. Because at the same time, you may learn a lot, on the way to a good match for a remote aunt or gggg father. You see different members results and trees, you learn to validate sources etc. And patience is a quality for Genealogy.
But, we sometimes have to cross-match trees to find a common ancestor and we have to look at multiple trees of different family names. Or we have to treat a lot of informations for different hypothesis testing in front of a brick wall. Also, from DNA results, I do triangulation matching for me and for others I help find their roots. A lot of searches. A lot of results.
So, I was just suggesting a more efficient way Ancestry could present Search results for public trees to avoid almost empty trees that are numerous in the database.
Suggestion: (and everyone's advice would be helpful)
Ancestry could just indicate trees that have no more than 2 generations OR no more than 5 or 10 individuals. Other ideas ???
