James Calloway Seagraves?

Help, please. I am trying to pin down a member of the Georgia Seagraves clan. It looks like Ancestry as well as some of the trees on Ancestry have conflated two men into one and I would appreciate some help in sorting out which is which.
First, there is a FindAGrave.com listing for a James Calloway Seagraves, born 5 October 1845 and died 30 March 1927 in Winder, Barrow Co., GA, buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder with Millie. “Georgia Deaths, 1914-1927” on Ancestry lists James Caloway Seagraves as born 5 Oct 1845 in GA and died 30 Mar 1927 in Winder, Barrow Co., GA with a spouse named Millie. Those sources tie nicely with a 1920 census listing in Winder, Barrow Co. for a James C. Segraves shown as born about 1847 in Georgia, married to a Millie, also 74. This couple on the census has a son, James E., born about 1881, with his wife, May, born about 1895, and their children, Wallace and Lonie Lee.
That James C. Seagraves can also be found on the 1910 census in Cut Off, Walton Co., GA at age 64 again with Millie, then 64 as well. On that census they have with them a daughter named Dara, age 28 and a son, James E., age 29, also with their daughter-in-law, May, age 16.
So far I believe it is clear that both those census records and the death and burial record refer to one man: James Calloway Seagraves (1845-1927). However, the 1900 census gives us two men named James C. Seagraves and the path diverges.
In Cedar Shoals, Newton Co., GA in 1900 we have James C., age 52, born in Oct 1847 with wife, Millie C., age 55, born in May 1845. The Seagroves spelling is a common indexing error. James and Millie have listed with them Dora P., a daughter age 25; Mattie A., a daughter age 23; Goss, a son age 21; Jim E., a son age 20; Mamie P., a daughter age 17; Maud B., a daughter age 16; Roxie L. a daughter age 15; Dosia D., a daughter age 12; and Berg (maybe Bird?), a brother age 55. I believe this is clearly the same family described above.
In Pitman, Madison Co., GA in 1900 we also have a James C. Seagraves, age 51, born in Aug 1848 with wife, Elisa G., age 47, born in Nov 1856. This James and Elisa have listed with them William L., a son age 17; Mitchell L., a son age 16; Lennie, a daughter age 13; Benett D., a son age 11; Earley F., a daughter age 9; Pearley E., a daughter age 6; and Alie B., a daughter age 4. This is a different family headed by a man born about the same time as the James Calloway above.
The census records prior to 1900 all apparently describe this new James C. Briefly, in 1880 he is J. C. in Nowhere, Madison Co., GA at age 30 with his wife, E. G., age 27. In 1870 he is “Cally” in Madison Co., age 21, son of Nancy. In 1860 he is James C. in Madison Co., age 11, son of William D. and Nancy. In 1850 he is James C., in Subdivision 56, Madison Co., age 2, son of William and Nancy.
So we have one man who starts appearing on the records in 1900 married to a Millie and dies in Barrow Co. in 1927. In 1900 there appears to be a second man, a son of William and Nancy, who appears first on the 1850 census and through the 1900 census married to an Elisa G. Since they clearly overlap in 1900 in different locations, they must be two different men. But, where was the first one before 1900 and what happened to the second one after 1900?

See my response on the Seagraves board... hope to hear from you soon! Now to add to those other replies, I know we have gone over your Gilbert and my John 1858 but to rehash it to memory, William grandfather to both the men you inquire about, is son of John, from Wake Co, NC. They migrate together with their parents, John and Martha/Patsy, sister Parthena and brother Burell. I suspect we likely connect but Wake Co in that time period is such a conundrum. Lack of records and plethora of Seagraves at least on my end with Williams and Johns makes everything confusing for sure!!!!
