From the desk of I Dream Of Jeanie:
I'd like to reply to your concerns about what happened to April 6th.
It’s our number one question on the blog, to our member services agents, on Facebook - in fact just about everywhere. It seems like we should have an easy answer for it, and we do - April 6th was filmed on the back side of April 5th, but since we only post the front of most images, it looks to you, our subscribers, like the calendar went from April 5th to April 7th. April 6th is really there, in the back - you just have to look behind your computer monitor to see it. We're coming out with a new image viewer soon that will let you turn on or off the cobwebs to get the best possible blurry image.
But we make up for April 6th in various ways. We're posting some of our solutions right here on this message board that is read by 84 people, if they can get to it before it's deleted.
For instance, there are two April 5th's in our index - doesn't that help? Also, if you enter exactly "April 6th, USA" in the surname field, you might get something from Virginia before it was part of Kansas. Isn't that interesting and useful? Be the first to attach one of these records to your Member Tree. Just pick a person - any person - to get started. (Need help?) We are also launching a brand new tv show to help our readers and viewers deal with this world-wide problem. We're calling the program "DYKWDII? - Do You Know What Day It Is?", and will feature segments by famous musicians on the hunt for old calendars. Some of the scheduled guests (and their most famous hits) include:
Billy Haley & The Comets - "Rock Around The Clock"
Roberta Flack - "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Website"
Zager & Evans - "In The Year April 6th, 2525"
Jim Croce - "Time In A Bottle"
Chicago - "25 or 6 to 4 or IN or IA or India"
and my personal favorite:
Rocky Horror Picture Show - "Let's Do The Time Warp Again"http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6827163268088648679
But back to the original question. At this point in the process, we’re transcribing, indexing, checking and processing every date that hasn’t been fully indexed yet as well as dates from all U.S. territories because they might be different. Don't get us started on foreign countries like Mississippi.
So here’s our promise to you. We anticipate our next indexed date to be ready very soon. After that, we’ll deliver another date; then we’ll start launching date indexes a few at a time. Unfortunately, we can’t say which date will be ready first or next or even pin a date on when a specific date – including the one you really want to search – will be fully indexed. In the meantime,
Rather than give you no answer at all, or the straight answer even, we're very pleased to blog you this run-around.
