I think I got lucky in that my Credit Card company has told me that if I write Ancestry telling them that I do not wish to renew my subscription, and should Ancestry do so anyway, that I will not be held liable for the charge. All I need do is provide the Credit Card company with a copy of the letter to Ancestry and that, along with my report to the Credit Card company now has on record will be all that needed for the charge to be declined.
The farad and abuse department went on to say that should enough problems be reported, that the Card Company “may” withdraw/cancel it’s contract with Ancestry.
The 800 number provided does not appear to be being answered, I was on hold yesterday for 31 min. before being cut-off of hung-up on.
