Question:
Is Ancestry.com compatible with WebTV?
Answer:
Though it is not officially tested and supported on Ancestry.com, some versions of WebTV (MSN TV) can view the assortment of databases that we have on our web site; however, most versions of WebTV cannot download information from the internet. The Ancestry World Tree is the only database on our site that has files to download which would be unavailable for our WebTV users. As a WebTV user you will also be unable to view the Images Online (such as the Census Images or Historical Newspaper images). The rest of our databases bring up information that can be printed or simply copied down.
If you have difficulties logging in to Ancestry.com using WebTV, please try logging in directly by clicking here.
If you are encountering access difficulties with WebTV, we suggest you contact the support staff at WebTV. You can do this by calling 1-800-469-3288 or by visiting their help site by clicking here.
We also suggest that you unplug your WebTV system and keep it turned off for about 30 seconds. This should clean out the history of the system and allow you better to access our site. Then, plug in your system and try accessing Ancestry.com again.
