Most of us already know records and databases can be wrong. This is why we go for multiple records (originals preferred as transcriptions can introduce more errors) and especially DON'T use trees other than as possible hints to look for records.
My brother's birth certificate has a wrong birth date.
My great-grandfather's death certificate has a wrong mother.
My gg-grandmother's death certificate has a wrong birth country.
Errors abound even in the best of databases and official records.
However barring personally being present at an event, one has to go with the records and figure out how to reconcile conflicting records.
