The message about the soundex filter not working in certain searches was posted here because it was a COMMENT about ancestry.com and an anomaly in the search mechanism

And it was NOT about a particular database's content

The purpose of my message was to draw the problem to the attention of the relevant myfamilyinc staffers,

not merely to discuss content

When an error on the site spills over into discussion in usenet groups staff who do not have time to read al the soc.genealogy.* need ot be informed HERE :-)

There are multiple reports of soudex searches not working elswhere on this site but nothing has been done

the first stage is to acknowledge the problem exists
even if it takes a year to fix it
