Welcome to Ancestry.com! Now turn off the Family Trees in your hints and searches.
There are more than 2 million members, and bad trees are just part of the website. You have people that start a tree and lose interest, or are click happy. You could leave comments on public trees with correct information if you feel strongly about your ancestors being represented accurately, but lots of these folks may never get the message if they don't log on frequently, or if your ancestor is in one of their peripheral lines, they may just ignore it thinking they'll fix it later. Also, lots of folks feel like they are paying hundreds of dollars a year for this site and that gives them the right to use their tree as they see fit.
Lots of folks on Ancestry are novice researchers without the experience of old school genealogists and they need time to develop the best practices that were instilled when everyone had to travel to the courthouses, write societies, and put hands on documentation. They are learning what to look for and how to parse information. I have only been doing this for five years myself, and while I try to be accurate, sometimes I make mistakes and it can be months before I get back to researching that particular line before I see the error.
I think we all tend to feel as if we 'own' an ancestor and get a bit offended when we see blatant errors or sloppy research. If you turn off the tree hints and continue with just your own best practices, you'll have a less stressful Ancestry experience.
