Numbers in location names

I am new to this message board. So sorry if this may have already been asked. I see several locations in individual records that have a seven digit number in addition to place names. Does anyone know what this number represents? For instance, below is an example for Nicole Madelaine Gareman

Name:Nicole Madeleine Gareman
Birth:1631 in Soissons, Aisne, Picardie, France
Death:10 Apr 1688 in Portneuf, 1654534, Quebec, Canada

What does the 1654534 mean? I see the numbers duplicated in other entries for other individuals.

Thanks,
Don
