Like you said, he may have been the original programmer but he certainly doesn't know what he's talking about with the boards since he doesn't work on them. MyAccount would not store cookies. That is what your browser does. Nor does Ancestry.com servers store cookies. Again, that not what a cookie is supposed to do. Your computer needs to save the cookie to communicate with Ancestry.com. I just looked at the cookies for Ancestry.com (not boards) and it has stuff for my login, trees, etc. So it stores the information to communicate with Ancestry.com servers so that Ancestry.com sees that I am still logged in when moving from one page to the next and telling the system what records I have paid for access.
