I would like the option to designate someone who may be allowed to take over my tree as well.

I agree that there is a concern about the access to the knowledge base and sources. Each generation divides up the family items or donates some. However, if nothing else it would be nice to have someone answer messages. They might at least be able to indicate where an item was donated or who inherited it.

Each person would have to determine whether they trust someone else to take over their tree or just want it to go inactive.
