Hang on --- there is hope. I understand that next year, Ancestry will be sponsoring a new television show to replace Who Do You Think You Are? (WDYTYA?).

This new show is tenatively called Did You Really Think You Would Get Away With It? (DYRTYWGAWI?). The show will feature stories about Ancestry users who copied the research and photos of others and passed them off as their own. Every week a different famous personality will accompany members of law enforcement as they track down and apply swift justice to these kleptogenealogists..

Up first: Barry Manilow goes after an Ancestry Member known only as "Mandy", followed by Justin Bieber in search of "Baby". Later in the season, you'll see Lady Gaga in a dramatic and moving moment as she learns that Marie Osmond isn't her real sister. ("I was so thrilled and surprised when I got the Tree Hint that led me to Donny & Marie .... now I'm completely devastated. I don't even want to wear the meat dress anymore.")
