Re: Suggestion: Have child birth show up in birth mother's fact list
I retract my statement about their automatically added Childbirth record only saying 'Missouri' when I state city and county. For the son I was looking at, I did only have his primary birth place listed as Missouri.
I did notice that it shows non-biological children's childbirth as well. One of my ancestors that I looked at had her step-children's birth dates and places listed identically with her biological children. The fact that her biological son was born in Oklahoma and her stepson was born the same year in California is rather confusing when there's no indication of the different status.
I'm not sure what the best way to handle this would be. There are situations where you might want to see a step-child or adopted child's birth. For instance, my father was adopted pretty much from birth. It might be appropriate to see his birth. But seeing the birthdates of her future stepchildren for a marriage she wouldn't do for another 20 years is a bit off.
Maybe for non-biological children, list their biological parents if known?

Re: Suggestion: Have child birth show up in birth mother's fact list
I checked my stepmother's profile - I am not shown as her child. In my tree, my stepmother's marriage to my father is documented, but I was an adult when they married, after the deaths of first spouses.
I believe you may have created as step relationship in the tree, which would cause the step child to be listed in the timeline.

Yes, I did create the step-relationship. Is that the wrong thing to do? Marrying their father automatically makes her their stepmother I thought. Although the oldest was 21 at the time of the marriage. I hadn't considered age when creating the relationships.

Re: Suggestion: Have child birth show up in birth mother's fact list
The step relationship will show automatically.
When you create a step relationship, any reports you create in Family Tree Maker, will connect the families down the branch. And any DNA testing will have misleading information.

Alrighty then... I will remove those relationships. Is the option to define those a legacy from an earlier version, maybe? Otherwise makes little sense to me to have them if all they do is screw up relationships. ;)
Oh well, doesn't matter much. I was just being overly-thorough. Thanks for the assist! I'll fix up my tree.
