All the emphasis seems to be on making 'idiot proof' so people can do like the celebrities on WDYTYA and enter a name and by magic all their family appears.

I am sure most people doing family history seriously are like me and like to keep control of their searches. Most of the time they will be looking up something specific and set up the particular search they want rather rely on a clever algorithm that someone has spent ages working on.

Perhaps what we need is one single slider on the home page to set the 'Idiot Level' which would let more experienced people adjust to allow them to do proper searches.
