Searching on Ancestry

I find the new search results inefficient and confusing. Searching has always been a problem on Ancestry because filters do not work, and results are always too broad, no matter how much a researcher tries to narrow them through the filters; however, with great effort, it was still possible to ferret out desired information. Since changes have been made, I am puzzled by results and feel that more layers have been added, making it even harder to see what I have found with a search. I find myself going to Family Search now and only returning to Ancestry when I know exactly what documents I need to look at. The drawback in this is that sometimes Family Search does not have a record that Ancestry does have. If Ancestry's transcription of the record is faulty or the search engine does not allow me to narrow the search by specific parameters, I may never find a record that is actually there. Often Family Search has records that Ancestry does not, however. I have been subscribing to Ancestry for many years and have been very grateful for it, but it is now losing its lustre for me, and I may have to cancel my subscription and save the money. It makes me sad. I don't consider this childish whining as I have seen complaints called on other message boards.

While the appearance of the tree has changed, there has been no recent change to the search mechanism.
