New DNA results page - 8 photos under DNA matches (center of screen)

What is the purpose of the 8 photos on the redesigned AncestryDNA Member Matches page? These photos appear prominently in the center of the page to the right of the ethnicity estimate. Some of the photos have peaked my curiousity, but the photos are not links so it's not easy to locate the DNA matches that these photos represent. How does Ancestry determine which photos to display? Will these be made links in the future? Once 8 photos are displayed do these ever change? If so, are different photos displayed randomly? Thanks!

I can't say what the purpose of the 8 photos are but if I had to hazard a guess I'd say they're just teasers ANC plugged in to take up space.

As for where they come from, they appear to be the first 8 of your DNA matches that actually have avatars, when sorted by date. No logic that I can discern so if they're eventually going to be clickable or actually useful for something is anybody's guess.

Thanks, Dennis ... You are right, The 8 photos correspond to the first 8 DNA matches with avatars when the DNA matches are sorted by date!
