I am looking for any information on a Hattie Simon who is said to have lived in Milwaukee around 1917, to have given birth to a child that was given up for adoption, and who later moved to and lived in Michigan. The child given up for adoption was my maternal grandmother. She lived in Milwaukee and was adopted by Vincent and Julia (Backewiez) Szpott, who immigrated to Milwaukee from Germany and Poland respectively. My grandmother was named Marie Elizabeth and she married once--to Raymond John Irving on June 22, 1935.

Even the faintest of clues would be helpful. The child was born in Misercordia Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 11/04/1916.
