Hello, I'm not really sure where to even begin other than for many years i've been in wonder of my heiratage and if I'd even be able to find anyone from my fathers side of the family. Or if even anyone would ever want to answer my questions,or even help me. I know my father never really ever knew of me of if he did if he ever wanted to meet me. But when I reach my preteen years and wanted to find him, he had been missing and the was found dead in a lake in calif. I had made contact with his sister (an aunt) to me ,recieved a letter from her was very brief, other than her stating he had 3 other children. Also that she and him were wards of the state when then we're small. But as tie has went on I've found myself in great desire to find out all I possiable can/could about the other part of my missing/life or part of who I am.I now have came to a dead end due to most all my family are gone. My mother and grandmother and 9 of my aunt/uncles are decesed and I've 3 children of my own. My last son I named after the father I never meet and now not only do I have questions but so does he, Ones I cannot answer, So I was wondering if anyone out there can help me in my search? any informatin would be appreciated. My fathers name Franklin Henrey Grant, now I have a Bible that was presented to him in 6/1959 inside of it shows the marriage of him and my mother dated 12/2/1959, and I believe this took place in Kansas. My mothers name was Shirley Kay Binns. If anyone could help me it would mean so much. Thank you and I'll be watching for any response.

Hi there. I was looking at your message, and I went to the social security death index. I don't find anyone there with that name, and most people are on there if they are deceased, and had a socil security number. Are you absolutlely sure that he is dead? bitties3@hotmail.com

I would suggest that you contact your Aunt once again and ask her politely to provide more detail--such as name of the lake where his body was found, name of town, name of county. That type of information will enable you to locate his death certificate (if he is dead), coroners report from the County Coroners office(because there would be one if he was found dead in lake), local newspaper article. You should also ask your aunt the name of his childen and where they live. The name of his wife and her address. After you get this information, you might hire a cheap attorney to write a few letters for you. It is amazing how much information a letter addressed by an attorney is able to produce. Always remember to remain polite and to thank her for anything that she does provide--you never know when you might need to ask her for something in the future. I hope you find what you are looking for.

What year were you born? A lot of adoptees use a website called adoption.com. This might help you. It is very big though and if you need help please feel free to contact me and I will see what I can do.
