I've been searching for background and possible record retention from Bethesda Home, which was apparently a home for unwed mothers from approximately the 1890's to the 1920's in Pittsburgh. Reverend Prugh was the head, and he was also attached to the Grace Reformed Church.
Grace Reformed Church records are retained by the University of Pittsburgh, but the Bethesda Home records are not in the collection.
I'd like to obtain Bethesda Home records for my great-grandmother, who gave birth to twins, and if they didn't function as an orphanage, I'd like to find out which orphanage my grandmother was transferred to, prior to her adoption, and request records from there as well.
If anyone has any information, I'd appreciate the help!
