Have you posted on any of the adoption registries
online? Someone may be looking for you.
Was this a private adoption or one by an agency?
If it was an agency you may be able to get what is
called 'non identifying' information. It doesn't
give any names, but some background and maybe circum
stances.

I know of one adoptee who wrote to the court to see if
there was a contact address. There was, and of course the
court would not give it out, but they did forward a letter
from the adoptee. They did connect.

I can also say that I've read in the local paper in NJ that
'they' are working on disclosing all information to adoptees. But it will be a while yet.
