Non-Ident Info shows that I was born at the Duke Hospital Durham, NC in August of 1955. My Birth Mom was 18 at the time of my birth and was from Alamance or Orange County of N.C. She had to quit school at the age of 16 due to illness and worked as a soda fountain girl at a drugstore. Prior to my birth she stayed at the Salvation Army Home in Durham,NC. She referred to me as Baby Verlie. My Dad was supposedly from Virginia and was working for a plumbing company the 2 years prior to my birth. Mom and Dad were never married. My Mom's father worked on a dairy farm and did carpentry work. My Mom's mother worked in a cafeteria. I was adopted by the Covington family in Rockingham, NC.
