child born October 1923

looking for information about the family of female adoptee... born October 1923 in Montana. She weighed only 3lbs. I was told her birth family was Meagher, she has brother four years older than she. Father was WWI veteran, wounded and later died. Mother traveled from Montana to San Francisco area to be with (grandmother?)...that person willing to help raise 4yr old son, but not up to dealing with a 3 lb. infant. Child adopted by Frank and Grace Whipple and is still living.
