Could anyone shed some information or have access to the Ky Birth Index? My husband was born on Sept. 18, 1953, and was given up for adoption. He was born in Jefferson County, KY. We have reason to believe that he was born to Betty Jean Wheeler and William Robert Wheeler who was in the army in Germany at that time. We believe that he was born at home and taken by his grandparents and given up for adoption. His mother was told that he died. Does any of this sound familiar? Would a birth at home be in the Birth index? Please help if you can. He was adopted in Louisville and given to his adoptive parents in December.
