I'm looking for the adoptive parents of Velma May "Peggy" Jones Pritts Polk, b. 1916 Selden, Sheridan, Kansas, d. 1968 Shirley, Indiana. She was my grandmother and the biological daughter of Franklin Jackson Jones and Mary F. Cole, according to her birth certificate. Rumor has it she was adopted by a Pritts in Kansas, and there is, in fact, a George Edwin Pritts who married her aunt Laura Emiline Jones a few years after Velma was born, but Velma doesn't appear in any census records. Also, Velma married 1st Charles Calhoun, 2nd Charles Ream Polk. I am doing this research for my father, Charles Calhoun, who would also like to contact any living relatives of his uncle Kenneth Jones and Aunt Ada Jones (don't know married name).
