I have a Certificate of Live Birth issued to the adoptive parents in 1944. In the top right corner of the certificate it lists "usual residence of mother". Is that the residence of the birth mother, or the adoptive mother? Why does it not say, "residence of parents"? In this case, the adoptive mother supplied the information on the birth cert. Could that be the reason?
