Before my father passed away he was looking for his adoption information. His adoptive parents had since passed.
He was given his adoption records from his parents long ago, so he had his birth mother's "real" name , she signed it as MRS. *** *** , he also had the information as to where he was adopted out of - childrens home, however we did not find out until after he passed that he was born in Iowa City, Iowa.

We have had some pretty rare diseases pop up in our family and would like to make contact with a willing decendant of hers, to gain this information.
Is there anyone out there that can tell me what the law reads as far as adoptions in the 1930's, to our knowledge he was not able to gain this information while he was alive, he only received the changed birth certificate. we know what his given birth name was also if that helps.
