Twins born at Columbia Hospital for Women Jan. 11, 1937. Doctor told mother that one sibling didn't make it. Mother was not permitted to see "deceased" baby. No birth certificate issued for surviving sibling. No death certificate for "deceased" sibling. No record of mother being at hospital on this date according to current staff. Surviving sibling thinks twin was adopted out. If anyone can guide me where to begin with this mystery, I'd appreciate any suggestions!
