My Great-Grandmother, Geraldine Scott Cassidy, was adopted in Arizona. All I know about the adoption was that it took place before 1930, in fact it may not have happened in Arizona, but that is where she was born.
Her birthdate is 1917 or 1918, depending on who you believe, and she died in 2002.
I am looking for her birth family. Sadly, by the time anyone asked her if she remembered her birth maiden name, she was too old to have any chance of remembering.
If anyone could help it would be great. Since about 2005 my family has been scrambling to find out who her father was. We suddenly made a breakthrough today when I stumbled upon a 1930 census record listing her place of birth as Arizona.
Any help would be appreciated more than you could possibly imagine. How can I find an adoption record/how can I find her pre-adoption last name? Thanks,
