Hi my name is Janet I'm 42 year's old and I just found out that I'm adopted and it was out of Alaska. My adopted Father was in the Air force and his name is Frank Truitt and my adopted mother name was Ruth Truitt and I also had a brother that was adopted too, his name was Thomas Truitt but I found out that we were both adopted from two different Indian tribes in Alaska, the reason that I want to find my birth mother or any family is because my adopted bother died of a heart attack. this last Aug. I need to know my health history, for me and most of all my children because all this time I'm thinking I know my history and my heritage and you know that now I don't even know where I even came from and I thought I was Cherokee and chalktaw and now I don't really know what kind of Indian I am. He thought it was Sitka or Sinka poo, I really don't know where to look and I'm still trying to get my orginal birth record's to see if I can get more info. More then any thing my whole world has been turned up side down, my adopted mother she has also passed away 2 year's ago. So all I have left is my father he is 80 year's old, he also told me that it was a Native Hospital but still he doesn't know where at. I found out my adopted mother made hella copy's and whited all the info out and retyped over, but you know that it does make alot of sense because the way that I was treated, I think that it should be a law that if you are adopted that you are told that you are adopted and they have all your medical history for you , that way you have all of it, because we need to know for ourself's and for our children.
