For many years, I have been trying to help a friend to find her sister who was born in England.
I have managed to obtain confirmation that she was adopted into Scotland but I don't have her new name.
No match of details could be found on the Scottish Adoption Contact Register.
Her original name was Rita Bantock and she was born on 20th March 1945 at 5 Pope Avenue, Conisbrough (near to Doncaster in West Riding of Yorkshire). The Registration District on the original birth certificate was Don Valley (Sub District Bambrough).
It is difficult to advertize in papers and magazines when her new name is not known.
So, does anyone know a lady with a birthdate of 20th March 1945 who was raised in Scotland.
