I would appreciate any pointers as to possible sources to research what may have happened to a child that I believe my grandmother may have had, out of wedlock, in Scotland around 1917-1920. She was from Norfolk, but may well have gone to scotland to have the child.
She was engaged but not married to a scottish man and I am assuming that things were "dealt with and covered up"- I am afraid I don't know the area of scotland in which her fiance lived - but it would be really helpful if anyone can tell me if there were any charitable adoption agencies, or where I could possibly search? My Grandmother's name was Florence May Gleed.
