Scottish law did not legally recognise adoption until 1930, so prior to that there was no official process, and so no adoption records as such.
However, there were charitable societies which looked after (mainly orphan) children, such as Quarrier's Homes, in Scotland and Barnardo's (mainly England). They will make a search of their records if you are willing to pay the fee demanded in advance.
