Just finding your message now…. I’ve had a good look for Richard HOPLEY but can’t quite join the dots.
If Richard HOPLEY was adopted and Amelia Mary BORLEY/FOX/HOPLEY was his mother, could his father have been FOX.
Amelia Mary BORLEY (BOOLEY) was born in 1869. She married Francis Matthew (Maurice) FOX in Darjeeling, Bengal, India on 21st April 1901. She is aged 32.
Their son Stephen George FOX was born on 9th December 1906. Amelia would have been aged 37.
Richard HOPLEY is born in 1911 when Amelia would have been aged 42.
It could be that Stephen FOX and Richard HOPLEY are ‘full’ brothers.
I couldn’t find the FOX/HOPLEY marriage but my notes definitely say that ‘HOPLEY’ is Amelia’s second marriage.
My relationship to Stephen FOX is daughter-in-law. Stephen FOX is grandfather to my daughter Alexia WESKIN-FOX. Just as Amelia is your Great Grandmother so too is she Alexia’s. If only we could join the dots, Lesley, we would know for sure. Alexia is on fb and my email is georgie6226@gmail.com
